ABOUT MYSELF
I got into jewelry by chance, but it hasn't let go of me ever since. Even after long breaks, I always find myself in a workshop with a hammer, a soldering gun or at least a file in my hand - and I always know that now, finally, I am in the right place.
In 2009 I had the great fortune of being able to immerse myself in the microcosm of jewelry art at the evening college for jewelry design in Vienna and I continue to be fascinated by its enormous diversity.
My main source of inspiration is nature. My work is inspired by organic forms and organic processes. Interested in the unusual and unexpected, I enjoy playing with the expectations towards what jewellery is supposed to be. The replacement of classical materials with organic matters - earth, plants, feathers, rose thorns, sea urchin shells or human hair - challenges traditional understandings of value and preciousness.
The Crescendo Series, my diploma project, allows you to take a piece of nature with you wherever you go. The pieces are unfinished and changeable; they evolve, depending on their wearers and the natural processes of growth that set their never final appearance.
In newer pieces I also start from the body, feelings and sensations while at the same time exploring the possibilities of the material - silver or copper - beyond its limits of deformability.
