ABOUT MYSELF

For me, the path to jewellery has always been through art. Sometimes I see jewellery as wearable art, sometimes I long for the directness that comes with wearing jewellery, which allows the concept to fade into the background. This gives me the freedom to make jewellery that is not always the result of a conceptual elaboration, but sometimes just an aesthetic idea that almost always evolves into something more than just form in the process of working.

My boundaries between (jewellery) and (art) and (jewellery art) are constantly shifting. I love the craft of goldsmithing and at the same time I love the abstract and imprecise in art. So, depending on what I am working on, one or the other comes to the fore.

My work is often political and progressive. At the same time, I never lose sight of the aesthetic.

Art is a necessity, a need that must be fed, that can perhaps never be completely satisfied, but from whose urge an incredible amount is created.
